Crystal IS manufactures bulk Aluminum Nitride (AlN) substrates at our facility in New York State. These native AlN substrates have low defect densities, high UV transparency and low concentrations of impurities. AlN is attractive for a variety of industries, such as UVC LEDs and power devices due to its ultra-wide bandgap and very high thermal conductivity.
Crystal IS currently manufactures UVC LEDs on our commercial process for 2-inch diameter substrates, producing thousands of 2-inch substrates annually to support these product lines. Crystal IS is also offering 2-inch substrates for the development of new applications for power and RF devices as we continue to develop our 4-inch diameter substrate product.
